DFS Beehive – Country

The DFS Beehive is used to produce DFS Honey Jars and DFS Wax. The Beehives will give you the following options: CARE, SETTINGS, and eventually HARVEST.

To use:

Rezz out your beehives, click and select CARE, which will give you a “sit” icon at your mouse. Sit and click CARE on DFS HUD or MrClicky to add care (10/10). While the beehive needs ten (10) clicks of care, each lasts 12 hours. It takes five(5) days to Harvest the Beehive, and the harvest will provide a DFS Honey Comb. The DFS Honey Comb has four (4) uses and is used to make a DFS Honey Jar and DFS Wax.

The DFS Bull and Cow have a lifespan of 30 days, and provide beef at the end of their lifecycle. The Bull will also produce fertilizer every 24 hours. Fertilizer will be ready to collect when the hover text above the Bull turns brown. The Cow will become pregnant once every 9 days, when within 5m of a Bull of the same type. One Bull can make 5 Cows pregnant within the 5m range.  Once the Cow is pregnant with the first baby the Cow will also start to produce milk every 24 hours. Babies are ready to collect when the hover text above the cow turns blue, and milk will be ready to collect when the hover text turns yellow. The DFS Bull and Cow’s level of meat depends on the age and happiness of the Bull at the time of slaughter.  To gain the maximum meat, you must wait until day 21 or later, and use DFS Animal Protein to raise the happiness to 81% or higher, before slaughtering.

Instructions on how to care for the DFS Bull and Cow:

While wearing the DFS HUD, and the DFS Brush, you will need to click the DFS Bull, where you will see one of the following options: SETTINGS, RENAME, BRUSH, EXIT, WASTE, MILK, BIRTH or SLAUGHTER.

To care for the DFS Bull and Cow, you will need to select BRUSH, Hover over the item with mouse pointer until you see the ‘Sit’ icon *Left-click to sit on it. You may need to toggle your AO if it doesn’t animate you Click ‘Care’ to complete the action and costs 5 Energy.  This will increase the happiness by 20%, to a maximum of 80% (unless using Animal Protein). If you bring the happiness percentage to 80% (or 100% with animal protein), your avatar will automatically stand.

You will need DFS Animal Protein to reach 81% or higher. It is best to give protein after 21 days or more, just before selecting slaughter. To give the DFS Animal protein, place the protein near the DFS Animal, click the animal and select PROTEIN from the menu. The animal will consume the protein, and the Happiness stat will gain 20%, and will be able to be increased higher than 80%.

Brushing will take you to a limit of 80% happiness. On a daily basis, you only need to bring the animal to 80%, unless you are ready to slaughter the animal. The animal will lose 40% every 24 hours, so the animal will stay alive for 48 hours, from being taken to 80% happiness. Animals can be taken into inventory, when the clock will stop until you rez your animals again.

The DFS Bull and Cow need a DFS Water Trough, and DFS Hay Bale within 10m, to keep their Hunger and Thirst stats at or near 100%. The animals will eat and drink throughout the day automatically, however, it is a good idea to monitor your animals’ food and water, to ensure it is always available, and that Second Life has not glitched. (For DFS Hay growth information, please see seed information.) DFS Hay can also be purchased at the Main Store, or at the various markets.

Cow and Bull Feeding information: 

One DFS Hay Bale (100) should last for around one week for a cow/bull.

Cow/Bulls will eat/drink when hunger/thirst starts going under 90.

DFS Chickens have a lifespan of 20 days, and provide chicken meat.  The DFS Chicken provides 2 meats between 1 – 14 days. At 15 days, bird will provide full meat (5).  If you place the DFS Rooster near the DFS Hen, every 6 days, the DFS Hen will provide an egg, when clicked will be a new chicken.

Instructions: In the same manner, you care for the other animals, you will care for the birds:

  • Wearing the DFS HUD, you will attached the DFS brush, click to select from the menu one of the following settings, rename, protein, brush, exit or slaughter.
  • To brush the DFS Hen, you will need to attached the DFS Animal Brush.  Click Chicken access menu, then select brush and sit on the DFS Chicken, then click CARE on DFS HUD.  Once done, you will pop off the Chicken. (Please note, you may also use Mr Clicky)
  • However, unlike the other animals, brushing will allow you to reach 100% happiness, without protein.
  • The DFS Rooster and DFS Hen will eat the same food as their DFS Chicken Coop cousins.
  • Unlike their DFS Coop cousins, the hens must be in range of the water trough
  • Please note, the DFS Hen will not provide cooking eggs.
  • Food Consumption is 7% per day
  • Thirst goes down by 43% per day
  • Care goes down by 28% per day

DFS Chicken Coop comes in both regular and tiny sizes.  The regular comes with a coop house for the chicken and a single chicken, while the tiny is just a chicken.  The coops provide DFS Eggs baskets used for cooking DFS meals. When the Chicken makes 6/6 eggs, you have the option to collect the eggs.  To care for the coops, you need DFS HUD, water source, DFS Animal Brush and Chicken food.  You will need to care for the coop every 23 hours.  The Chicken Coop uses 33% of DFS chicken food a day.

Instructions:

  • Place coop within range of a water source, which are tower or barrels
  • Place bags of chicken food near the coop
  • Be sure to wear the DFS HUD and Animal brush
  • Click the coop, and select Care, feed, water, and when available Get Eggs
  • To Care, you must sit on the coop. You will notice a timer, when it reaches 100, you will pop off of the Coop.
  • The coop doesn’t provide meat or new chickens.

DFS Ducks have a lifespan of 20 days, and provide duck meat.  The DFS Duck provides 2 meats between 1 – 14 days. At 15 days, bird will provide full meat (5).  If you place the DFS Duck Male near the DFS Duck Female, every 6 days, the DFS Duck will provide a new duck.

The DFS Gators come in males and females.  From the Gator, you will harvest new gators, fertilizer, and meat.   The gators need gator feed to eat, water trough, and care.  The gators live for 30 days.  The DFS Gator– Female will become pregnant once every 9 days, when within 5m of a DFS Gator – Male.  When the DFS Gator is pregnant the hover text above them will turn blue.  To collect the new birth, click the DFS Gator and select BIRTH from the menu.  A new DFS Gator male or female will then be delivered to your inventory. The DFS Gator – Male will provide fertilizers once a day.

The DFS Goats come in males and females.  From the Goat, you will harvest new goats, fertilizer, and meat.   The goats need goat feed to eat, water trough, and care.  The goats live for 30 days.  The DFS Goat– Female will become pregnant once every 9 days, when within 5m of a DFS Goat – Male.  When the DFS Goat is pregnant the hover text above them will turn blue.  To collect the new birth, click the DFS Goat and select BIRTH from the menu.  A new DFS Goat male or female will then be delivered to your inventory. The DFS Goat – Male will provide fertilizers once a day.

The DFS Lllamas come in males and females.  From the Lllama, you will harvest wool, new  llamas, fertilizer, and meat.  Harvest wool, from both male and female, every 7 days.  The Llamas need Hay to eat, water trough, and care.  The Llamas live for 30 days.  The DFS Llama– Female will become pregnant once every 6 days, when within 5m of a DFS Llama – Male.  When the DFS Llama is pregnant the hover text above them will turn blue.  To collect the new birth, click the DFS Llama and select BIRTH from the menu.  A new DFS Llama male or female will then be delivered to your inventory. The DFS Llama – Male will provide fertilizers once a day.

The DFS Ostriches come in males and females.  From the Ostrich, you will harvest new Ostriches, fertilizer, and meat.    The Ostrich needs to eat Ostrich food, water trough, and care.  The Ostrich lives for 30 days.  The DFS Ostrich – Female will become pregnant once every 9 days, when within 5m of a DFS Ostrich – Male.  When the DFS Ostrich is pregnant the hovertext above them will turn blue.  To collect the new birth, click the DFS Ostrich and select BIRTH from the menu.  A new DFS Ostrich male or female will then be delivered to your inventory. The DFS Ostrich – Male will provide fertilizers once a day.

DFS Pigs have a lifespan of 30 days.  A boar provides fertilizer every day and, when slaughtered, a pork crate.  The pork crate delivered will depend on the age, and happiness of the pig when slaughtered.  To gain the maximum meat, you must wait until day 21 or later, and use DFS Animal Protein to raise the happiness to 81% or higher, before slaughtering.  If you place a DFS Boar within 5 meters of a DFS Sow, she will be able to become pregnant every 6 days, and can deliver a DFS Sow or DFS Boar.

When you are ready to slaughter, you will need to use DFS Animal Protein to reach higher than 80%.  You will need to place the DFS Animal Protein near the animal, click the animal, and click “Protein”.  It will raise the happiness by 20%.  You will then need to tend the animal, until its happiness is 81% or higher.  When the animal is at 81% or higher, and you then slaughter the animal, you will receive a crate, with meat that is the maximum amount for the age of the slaughtered animal.

The DFS Boar and Sow needs a DFS Water Trough, and DFS Pig Food, within 10m, to keep their stats at or near 100%.  The animals will eat and drink throughout the day automatically, however, it is a good idea to monitor your animals’ food and water, to ensure it is always available, and that Second Life has not glitched.  DFS Pig Food is available for purchase in the main store, and there is a recipe that can be made on feed mill.  1 DFS Pig Food will feed 1 Boar or Sow for 17 days, or 1 DFS Pig Food will feed 17 sows and boars for 1 day.

The DFS Boar will provide 1 DFS Fertilizer every day.  When it is ready to provide, you will see the hover text above the Boar change to orange, reminding you that it is time to collect the Fertilizer.  To collect the fertilizer, click the DFS Boar, and select “Waste” from the menu.  You will receive the DFS Fertilizer in your inventory. The DFS Sow will provide babies on days 6, 12, 18, and 24. When the babies are ready to collect the hover text above the Sow will become blue.

The DFS Rabbits come in males and females.  From the rabbits you will harvest new rabbits, fertilizer, and meat.  The rabbits need rabbit food to eat, water trough, and care.  The rabbits live for 30 days.  The DFS Rabbit– Female will become pregnant once every 9 days, when within 5m of a DFS Rabbit– Male.  When the DFS Rabbit is pregnant the hovertext above them will turn blue.  To collect the new birth, click the DFS Rabbit and select BIRTH from the menu.  A new DFS Rabbit male or female will then be delivered to your inventory. The DFS Rabbit – Male will provide fertilizers once a day.

The DFS Sheep come in males and females.  From the sheep, you will harvest wool, new sheep, fertilizer, and meat.  Harvest wool, from both male and female, every 7 days.  The sheep need Hay to eat, water trough, and care.  The sheep live for 30 days.  The DFS Sheep – Female will become pregnant once every 6 days, when within 5m of a DFS Sheep – Male.  When the DFS Sheep is pregnant the hovertext above them will turn blue.  To collect the new birth, click the DFS Sheep, and select BIRTH from the menu.  A new DFS Sheep male or female will then be delivered to your inventory. The DFS Sheep – Male will provide fertilizers once a day.

DFS Turkeys has lifespan of 10 days, and provide raw whole turkey.  The DFS Turkey are fully grown on Day 6 and will provide 1 meat with 5 uses, before day 6 baby turkeys provide 1 meat with 1 use. Female turkeys can get pregnant once after day 6. They will give you a Male or Female Turkey.
